Dr. Matt Schocket is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain management after completing his residency at UT-Southwestern in Dallas and fellowship at the University of California.

Dr. Raimy Amasha joined Capitol Pain Institute after completing his pain management fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and a research internship in stem cell therapy at Stanford University.

Dr. Neal Blauzvern is the most senior Pain Management Physician in Central Texas, with more than 35 years of continuous Pain Management practice​. He is Fellowship-trained in Pain Management, and Board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology . In his practice, Dr. Blauzvern strives to personalize treatment plans for each patient depending on their individual needs and preferences. Dr. Blauzvern’s primary goal is always to relieve pain, improve function, and restore his patients’ ability to enjoy life. Dr. Blauzvern is currently accepting new patients at our North Austin location.

Dr. Jonathan Church is a board-certified anesthesiologist and has completed subspecialty training in interventional pain medicine. After completing his undergraduate education at The University of Texas, he earned his medical degree at the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio.

Dr. Iden Cowan is dual board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. She is passionate about providing customized multimodal treatment plans that directly target her patients’ sources of pain, with a special interest in lumbar spinal stenosis, pelvic pain, and sacroiliac joint pain. Dr. Cowan enjoys working to improve her patients’ functional status and helping them achieve their goals. Dr. Cowan is excited to offer several minimally invasive procedures including spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, Superion and Zipp for lumbar spinal stenosis, sacroiliac stabilization, as well as a variety of nerve blocks. Dr. Cowan is accepting new patients at our North Austin and Georgetown locations.

Dr. Anjuli Desai is dual board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. She has served as Chief Resident as well as Clinical Instructor at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia where she completed her training. Dr. Desai serves as a Clinical Site Director for Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residents from University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical Program. She also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Texas A & M University Health Science Center. Dr. Desai’s areas of expertise include performing diagnostic EMG (electromyography) and NCS (nerve conduction studies) to evaluate numbness, pins and needles or burning pain in the arms or legs. She also specializes in the treatment of spine pain, joint disorders and occipital neuralgia, and offers a variety of outpatient pain management procedures.

Dr. Bhaskara Ganti is a board-certified interventional pain physician and anesthesiologist. Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Ganti received his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. Thereafter he went to pursue training at Northwestern University Medical Center. After completing his residency, Dr. Ganti focused on Interventional Pain Management by completing a fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Selina Gawriluk is a native Texan and a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has earned a BS in Biology, BS in Nursing from UTHSCSA, and a Masters of Science in Nursing from Texas State University.

Krista is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Marissa is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science from Texas A&M University and her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. Marissa grew up in Austin and has 10+ years of experience practicing in both pain management and hospital medicine here. Outside of work she enjoys spending her time with her husband and two sons exploring Austin and the outdoors.

Chelsey is a native Texan and a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her BS in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Texas at Austin, her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Augusta University, and Post-Master’s in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin.

Lauren is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Texas State University and her Master of Science in Nursing at University of Texas at Arlington.

Dr. Angus Lowry is dual board certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology, having also completed residency in Internal Medicine. Dr. Lowry is a graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas, and completed residencies in internal medicine and anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Raj Patel is a dual board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician. He has completed subspecialty training in interventional pain medicine. He completed his Anesthesiology residency and Pain Management fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Patel received his medical degree and completed a surgical internship at Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. While at Rush University, he trained directly under national thought-leaders in pain medicine, honing a diverse skillset ranging from joint injections and radiofrequency ablations to advanced procedures such as spinal cord and dorsal root ganglion stimulation, indirect spinal decompression, and percutaneous joint fusion.

Dr. Andrew Phillips is a board-certified physiatrist and fellowship trained in Interventional Pain Management. After completing his undergraduate education at The University of Texas at Austin, he received his medical degree at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia. He then completed an Internal Medicine internship at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown and went on to complete residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of California in Los Angeles. Following his residency, he completed fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management at Hudson Medical in New York City.

Mallorie is a Graduate of Baylor University, there she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Science and Nursing with honors. She went on to get her masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Texas at Arlington and achieved board certification shortly after.

Sarah is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University and her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
