Dr. Jonathan Church is a dual board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician. He has completed subspecialty training in interventional pain medicine. After completing his undergraduate education at The University of Texas, he earned his medical degree at the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio. Following medical school, he completed a surgical internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and then went on to complete residency in anesthesiology and fellowship training in interventional pain medicine at the prestigious Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Church’s training at Rush University exposed him to the full spectrum of pain conditions and treatment modalities in the chronic and acute settings. With this experience, he is able to tailor treatment to each patient’s specific needs. Dr. Church’s focus is treatment of low back pain, neck pain, radiculopathy, joint pain, complex regional pain syndrome, and neuropathic pain. He specializes in a wide array of pain injections, spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion stimulation, intrathecal drug delivery, and minimally invasive spine procedures such as the Vertiflex procedure. Dr. Church understands that chronic pain can be debilitating and chose a career in pain management to alleviate suffering and improve functioning for those whose lives have been disrupted by chronic pain. He prides himself on high quality of care and excellent bedside manner. Through a multimodal approach to treatment, he aims to optimize pain control, improve functional activity, and restore quality of life for all of his patients.
Personal
In his free time, Dr. Church enjoys hanging out with his wife Liliana, watching sports, playing golf, listening to music, trying new restaurants, and experiencing all that Austin has to offer. He is excited to bring his skill set back to Austin and is happy to start treating patients in his home state!
