Raimy Amasha, M.D.

Dr. Raimy Amasha is a Dual Board Certified Anesthesiologist and Pain Management physician and the Associate Medical Director at the Center for Specialty Surgery in Austin, Texas. After completing his undergraduate degree at Duke University, he attended Vanderbilt University for medical training and also spent a focused research year studying the potential of stem cells at Stanford University. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Michigan and his Pain Management fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Amasha chose pain management because of his heartfelt passion to work with patients during their most arduous times. His training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital exposed him to a wide variety of pain therapies, from spinal cord stimulation and injections to medication management, and fostered a firm belief in an individualized patient-specific approach to care.

He has has authored chapters in pain management books including, Pain Medicine and Management: Just the Facts, and Interdisciplinary Pain Medicine: A Case Approach, and he contributes to many publications and journals adding to the medical body of knowledge that propels the field of pain medicine forward. Additionally, he works with pharmaceutical companies to educate other health professionals on pain relieving medications.
Dr. Amasha lives in Austin with his wife Shera; they recently celebrated the birth of their first child, a baby boy. Dr. Amasha is an avid football and sports fan. When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Amasha enjoys running, lifting weights, skiing, traveling, and spending time with his wife.
