Dr. Anjuli Desai, M.D.

Dr. Juli Desai is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and completed her fellowship training in Interventional Pain Medicine. Prior to joining Capitol Pain Institute, she served as Chief Resident as well as a Clinical Instructor at Temple University Hospital from 2011-2012. She was then awarded a competitive fellowship at Temple University Hospital’s ACGME-accredited training program in the subspecialty of Interventional Pain Management.
Dr. Desai’s areas of expertise include the treatment of back and neck pain, headaches, musculoskeletal and joint disorders, neuromodulation (including spinal cord stimulation), and acute pain management. She also performs a variety of outpatient pain management procedures including fluoroscopic-guided spine injections, nerve blocks and spinal cord stimulator trials. She uses a very comprehensive and caring approach to her patients, which is primarily based on safe interventional pain management techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of pain disorders.
Publications & Recognition
She has contributed to the field of pain management in a variety of ways- as an author she wrote a chapter on spinal cord stimulation in the Comprehensive Pain Medicine and Interventional Pain Management Board Review textbook, and she most recently authored an abstract on Successful Management of Pain Secondary to Surgically Refractory Sternal Nonunion with Peripheral Nerve Stimulation. She has also presented at numerous national conferences. Dr. Desai was nominated to attend the first ever Women’s Leadership Summit (WLS) in 2016, for women making strides in the field of neuromodulation.
Dr. Desai is married to Dr. Rishin N. Desai, who is a Periodontist. They live in Austin with their three children. When she is not practicing medicine, she enjoys spending time on the nearby lakes, enjoying all of Austin’s eclectic restaurants, and spending time with her family.
