Warning Signs – seek medical attention immediately

  • Abrupt, severe headache (especially if you’ve never had headaches before)
  • Headache with fever, stiff neck, rash, confusion, seizures, weakness, numbness, or difficulty speaking
  • Headache after recent sore throat or respiratory infection
  • Headache after recent head injury
  • Changes in your chronic headache symptoms
  • New headaches if you are over age 55
