Lauren Crider MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Board CertifiedLauren is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Texas State University and her Master of Science in Nursing at University of Texas at Arlington. Prior to joining Capitol Pain, she spent time working in emergency medicine, alternative medicine, and outpatient surgery. Lauren’s passion for pain management developed from her own personal experience, as she has suffered with chronic pain from a young age. Lauren uses her personal understanding of chronic pain to empathize with her patients while also helping them create a custom care plan to ensure they can effectively manage their pain and live their highest quality of life.
Outside of work, Lauren loves to spend time with her husband and 2 dogs, travel, workout in her home gym, hike, serve in her church, and try new restaurants with friends.
Selina Gawriluk, APRN, FNP-C
Board CertifiedSelina Gawriluk is a native Texan and a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has earned a BS in Biology, BS in Nursing from UTHSCSA, and a Masters of Science in Nursing from Texas State University. Her nursing background includes several years as a ICU and Labor and Delivery RN. Pain management is personal for Selina as she has several friends and family members who suffer from chronic pain and through them understands the difficulty in obtaining quality care for these conditions.
Through her experience she has learned the difference between quality and quantity of life and enjoys being able to provide improvement in quality of life for her patients.
Krista Jacobs, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Board CertifiedKrista is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington. Prior to joining Capitol Pain Institute, her nursing practice included trauma and medical/surgical in pediatrics, outpatient surgery, and alternative medicine. Krista believes that everyone should be able to live their best possible life without the hindrance of pain and have the right to receive quality care for these conditions. She strives to work in partnership with her patients to develop an individualized treatment plan providing pain relief and overall increase in quality of life.
Outside of work, Krista enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters camping, hiking, swimming, and overall exploring the outdoors.
Mallorie Salazar, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Mallorie is a Graduate of Baylor University, there she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Science and Nursing with honors. She went on to get her masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Texas at Arlington and achieved board certification shortly after.
Prior to joining Capitol Pain, she practiced in a variety of areas of nursing from pediatrics, neurosurgery, medical/surgical and oncology.
She is known by her patients to be approachable and thoughtful. Her primary goal is to assist her patients to achieve their highest level of function with less pain.
Sarah Zoeller, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Board CertifiedSarah is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University and her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Prior to joining Capitol Pain Institute, Sarah worked as a registered nurse in orthopedics at St. David’s Medical Center. Sarah is committed to achieving a partnership with her patients through careful communication and compassionate care in order to mitigate pain and improve overall quality of life.
Outside of work Sarah enjoys relaxing with her husband and two daughters. She also loves, gardening, hiking, traveling and live music.
OhiO
Sarah Johnson, APRN
Sarah Johnson is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010 and her Master of Science in 2017; both from Mt. Carmel College of Nursing. Sarah spent the majority of her nursing career working in emergency medicine before transitioning to chronic pain management. She strives to develop an individualized, comprehensive treatment plan that provides pain relief, improved function, and better quality of life for each of her patients. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, family, and friends. She also enjoys shopping, traveling, and watching football & basketball. You can find her cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.
Breann Goldsmith, APRN
Bre has been a practicing nurse since 2007. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from Ohio University. Bre is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Prior to joining Capitol Pain Institute, she worked in hospitals taking care of orthopedic and medical-surgical patients. Bre also has experience in orthopedic spine surgery and chronic spine disorders. She enjoys taking the time to get to know her patients and individualizing treatment plans that best suit their needs. When Bre isn’t working, she enjoys sampling red wines, DIY projects, being outside, and exploring new parks with her family.
Suzzie Pistole, PA-C
Suzzie is a board certified Physician Assistant. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Marietta College in 2005 and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the same institution in 2007. Suzzie has worked in orthopedics, family medicine, and addiction medicine, but the majority of her career and passion has been in the treatment and care of patients with chronic pain. Suzzie prides herself on treating her patients like family. She is committed to providing excellent care & improving patient’s quality of life by being compassionate in her care of chronic pain conditions. Outside of work, Suzzie enjoys hiking with her family, CrossFit, and caring for her 2 dogs and 2 pygmy goats
Courtney Wilder-Whiting, APRN, FNP-C
Courtney is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012 and her Master of Nursing in 2015 both from Chamberlain University. Courtney has worked in long-term care, medical-surgical, and addiction medicine but the focus of her family nurse practitioner career has been treating patients suffering from chronic pain. She enjoys playing a part in improving patient’s quality of life by assisting in the management of their pain. In her free time, Courtney enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and fiancé.
Kentucky
Thomas Freels, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Thomas is board-certified family nurse practitioner since May 2016. He has received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Masters of Science in nursing from the University of Louisville. Prior to joining Capitol Pain in 2019, he worked in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat) and Allergy for a total of seven years; two of the years as a Nurse Practitioner. He also has some experience in emergency care at the University of Louisville Hospital and long-term care facilities.
He has been dedicated to providing high-quality of care by establishing a partnership with his patients through means of compassion and excellent communication. He has a drive for knowledge and obtaining new skills to better both himself as a clinician and patient care.
Outside of Capitol Pain, Thomas is a fitness enthusiast and also dabbles in aesthetic work such as Botox and dermal filler injections. He also enjoys traveling with friends and loved ones whenever possible.
Anna Kessler DNP, APRN, FNP-C
Anna Kessler is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Kentucky University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Louisville. Prior to joining Capitol Pain Institute, she spent time working in emergency medicine and pre-operative/post-operative care.
She enjoys taking the time to get to know her patients and individualizing treatment plans that best suit their needs. She works to improve pain, function, and overall quality of life so patients can return to the lifestyle and activities they enjoy.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs. She enjoys cooking, hiking, trying new local restaurants, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Christina Martin, APRN, FNP-C
Board CertifiedChristina Martin is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a family nurse practitioner. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky in 1997 and her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Louisville in 2002. Christina has been a nurse practitioner for around 20 years and has experience in family practice, emergency medicine, orthopedics, and pain management. She is diligent and passionate in providing patients with the best care and patient experience possible. In her spare time, Christina enjoys spending time with her dog, Boogie, and reading.
Aletha Bault, APRN, FNP-C
Aletha was born and raised in Kentucky and graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing in May of 2022 from Eastern Kentucky University. Prior to, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisville. Aletha has 5 years of experience in labor and delivery and additional training in psychiatric and medical-surgical nursing. Aletha has two daughters and two miniature Schnauzers. When she isn't working, Aletha loves to spend time with family and friends, read, listen to live music, and travel.
Gwen Thomas, NP
Board CertifiedGwen attended high school in Colorado, and then moved east to earn her degree as a nurse practitioner from Indiana Wesleyan. Gwen has been a nurse for over 20 years, and has 7 years of experience in pain management as a NP. Her previous medical experience includes hematology and oncology. She is married and is a mom to three boys.
