Kimberly Schocket, PHD.
Clinical Psychologist, Capitol Pain Institute
Kimberly Schocket earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and business foundations from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from UT Southwestern Medical Center with a focus on health psychology, specifically pain management. Kimberly spent two years at the Eugene McDermott Center for Pain Management in Dallas as a research intern studying the psychological impact of acute and chronic pain on patients. Additionally, she worked with a team of both physicians and psychologists to develop better screening tools to help predict surgical outcomes for patients suffering from chronic pain. Kimberly completed a fellowship at the Veteran’s Affairs Healthcare Systems, San Diego, CA specializing in military sexual trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder. She is a member of both the American Psychological Association and Capital Area Psychological Association.
As a clinical health psychologist, Kimberly understands the emotional impact of pain and therefore is able to help physicians and patients to better manage expectations and outcomes. She acts as a valuable resource helping to guide patients toward appropriate treatments in order to enhance their quality of life.

Personal
Kimberly is very involved in her community and volunteers in a myriad of capacities including at her children’s school and with many other non-profit groups. She holds several leadership positions in charitable organizations and has been awarded for her contributions. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, skiing, reading, and cheering for the Texas Longhorns.
