Diabetic Neuropathy


A nerve disorder that is the cause of diabetes mellitus. This condition may be one that is diffuse, which affects several body parts, or it can be focal and only affect one body part and one nerve. This condition can lead to weakness in the muscles, sensation or feeling loss, as well as loss of functions such as bladder, digestion, erection, sweating, and more. Around 60-70% of those that have diabetes have diabetic neuropathy but only about 5% have painful symptoms.
