Cervical disc herniation is not as common as lumbar disc herniation. This occurs when part or all of one’s disc is forced through a part of the disc that is weakened. Pressure then may be placed on nerves that are nearby or even the spinal cord. Cervical disc herniation can cause numbness, pain, and/or weakness.
